On Wednesday, February 13, 2019, Bishop Fred A. Caldwell, Sr., pastor of Greenwood Acres Full Gospel Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana honored Professor Albert Lavergne. The date was proclaimed as Albert Lavergne Day in Shreveport, Louisiana. Professor Albert LaVergne is alumnus of Southern University A&M College, class of 1968 and is internationally known for his metal sculptures. Mr. LaVergne spoke to several hundred boys and girls grades 3rd through 5th and their teachers as well as the Greenwood Acres Full Gospel Baptist church family and community. Professor LaVergne taught and served as Chairman of the Fine Arts department at SUBR for from 1974-1990. To find out more about Professor Albert Lavergne visit his website.
